I search for naturally occurring patterns on the ground that remind me of forms of graphic communication like maps, hieroglyphics or illustrations. These arrangements are created by the wind, water and movement of humans on the sidewalks and in the gutters of residential areas.
Since it is difficult to consider these found arrangements as forms of communication while they are in their native asphalt and concrete context, I transpose them to a sheet of paper, deliberately recreating their patterns by hand. My rendering of the found arrangement is then photographed.
The result is a series of undecipherable characters and visual representations of abstract information. The meaning of which is open for interpretation.
